MA Fine Art deepens studio practice by situating it within critical and contemporary contexts, providing the opportunity to develop ideas and work in a practice-led, interdisciplinary environment.

Whether engaging in painting, printmaking, drawing, photography, moving image, performance, social practice, or installation, students are encouraged to explore ideas through making and experimentation that leads to innovative creative directions.

Course Units

The course comprises three units designed to challenge students to move beyond known forms of art, encouraging unexpected and innovative understandings of their work in relation to current cultural debates.

Research and Knowledge Building

Entry Requirements

MA applicants typically require an undergraduate degree at 2:2 or above. However, individual strengths in creative practice and relevant experiences will be considered during the interview stage.

Portfolio Requirements

Applicants should submit a portfolio that showcases their work, organized or involved in by the candidate. The portfolio must reflect the applicant's capabilities relevant to postgraduate arts, craft, and design disciplines.

Application Deadline

The preferred deadline for submitting the MA application is July 1. Late applications will be accepted until the course commences if spaces remain available.
