Faculty Led Programs

Customized Study Programs

CEFAM provides universities with the opportunity to design customized short-term programs in Lyon, France. These programs can either be traditional Faculty-Led or blended models, combining faculty with CEFAM's resources. Faculty-led study abroad programs offer a unique chance to incorporate experiential components into courses, transforming the world into a classroom.

Programs may include:

• Seminars
• Lectures
• Corporate visits
• Cultural experiences

Highlighting Lyon as a vibrant European city known for its gastronomy, history, tourism, and business, CEFAM collaborates with universities and groups to create an engaging and meaningful itinerary tailored to specific budgets and timeframes. The faculty-led blended option takes advantage of a diverse curriculum that includes General Education courses, in addition to a focus on Business and International Relations.

Program Characteristics

Our Faculty-Led programs are short-term, group-based study-abroad experiences that:

• Range from 4 days to 6 months, offering flexibility based on academic needs
• Fulfill specific course requirements at partner universities, often satisfying a goal area, major, or minor requirement
• Bring together students from the same university, fostering collaboration and shared learning experiences
• May or may not be led by faculty from the partner institution

Example Activities

Examples of activities within the Faculty-Led programs include:

• French Culture Seminar
• Conference with Aderly, Lyon's Agency for Economic Development
• Euronews visit
• Visits with local entrepreneurs or businesses
• Professional Development Workshops
• Cooking classes
• Food tours of Les Halles de Paul Bocuse and other cultural sites
• Visits to historical sites such as the Gallo-Roman Museum
• Day trips to destinations including Marseille, Burgundy, or Annecy
