Course Overview
The English for Communication and the Media program is designed to refine the language skills necessary for effective communication across various fields and disciplines, including Public Relations, Fundraising, Media Planning, and Campaign Management. Participants, regardless of their affiliation with NGOs, public companies, or small businesses, are guided by experienced language instructors through interactive and hands-on tasks tailored to industry-specific needs.
This course emphasizes the development of participants' awareness of the English language, enhancing their ability to identify appropriate communication modes for diverse situations. Students will cultivate sensitivity towards nuanced vocabulary, register, tone, structure, and style, applying this knowledge through practical, scaffolded tasks. These activities are aimed at improving the communicational content of their texts, thereby enabling students to engage effectively with broader audiences and markets.
Participants will utilize an Interactive Course Pack, which comprises two key components:
- The main course materials, carefully selected and organized according to the specific needs and functional objectives of each group.
- Supplementary content featuring multimedia texts designed to inspire critical thinking, dialogue, and debate.
To ensure the content is tailored to the participants' specific requirements, a unique program is developed following the completion of a Needs Analysis Questionnaire (NAQ).
Main Course Aim
The primary goal of this course is to enhance learners' English language proficiency and awareness, allowing them to utilize the language more effectively to further the aspirations of their organization or other specific contexts.
