Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements

  • The minimum academic entry requirements and admission criteria for Amity University Dubai depends upon the type of high school curriculum you have followed.
  • Entry to Amity Business School Dubai undergraduate programs (Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, Bachelor of Finance, and Bachelor of Hotel Management and Tourism) requires students to have attained the General Education Secondary School Certificate (G 12) or equivalent.
  • In addition to achieving a minimum high school average of 60%.
  • All applicants must provide evidence of proficiency in English Language as well as in Mathematics as detailed below:
    • English Language Proficiency Requirements:
      • Students from non-MoE curricula that are taught in English are exempt from providing English Language proficiency evidence.
      • Students from non-MoE curricula taught in a language other than English must demonstrate proficiency through international standardized tests (IELTS 5 and above or its established equivalent).
      • Students from the MoE Curriculum must prove their proficiency through High School English grades, which should not be less than 80%.
    • Evidence of Mathematics proficiency in the form of:
      • ‘EmSAT Achieve’ minimum score of 600 in Mathematics, or
      • Grade 12 subject score in Mathematics that is equivalent to 60% and attained at a school system with centralized examination structure such as – but not limited to – the British system, the International Baccalaureate system, or the Emirati school system, or
      • A score of 60% on Mathematics on placement tests conducted by Amity University Dubai and approved by the UAE MoHESR, or
      • Equivalent scores on other internationally recognized tests that are approved by the UAE MoHESR.

Conditional Admission

  • Conditional admission can be allowed for not achieving the Mathematics proficiency scores.
  • Along these lines, students shall register for the University’s non-transferrable remedial Mathematics course.
  • Conditionally accepted applicants are permitted to take a maximum of 12 credits (including remedial) combining General Education courses as well as introductory courses which do not require Mathematics as pre-requisites.
  • Conditional admission can be allowed for not achieving the English proficiency scores for students from both non-MoE curricula taught in any other language other than English as well as those from MoE curricula.

Degree Overview:

The Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting degree at Amity University Dubai is designed to develop students' numerical abilities and skills. Graduates are lifelong learners who can use digital tools to make informed ethical business decisions across a wide range of business activities.


Objectives:

Upon successful completion of the Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, graduates will be able to:

  • Skills: Critically analyze and solve accounting and auditing problems and interpret the related results.

  • ACCT 110 Financial Accounting I: Examines the accounting cycle and introduces techniques for recording business transactions and preparing basic financial statements.
  • ENGL 102 English for Academic Writing: Develops persuasive writing skills, including summarizing, paraphrasing, reading, and writing critically.
  • GENE 120 Islamic Culture: Explores key beliefs and practices of Islam, cultural and social diversity, and the contribution of Islamic civilization to human civilization.
  • ACCT 120 Financial Accounting II: Introduces the characteristics of ownership structures and related accounting procedures, including partnership accounts, equity and debt financing of corporations.
  • MRKT 120 Principles of Marketing: Explores the marketing environment and its influence on regional and international marketing strategies, including market segmentation, positioning, and target marketing strategies.

  • ECON 210 Microeconomic Theory: Covers determinants of demand and supply, theories of consumer behavior, producer's equilibrium, profit maximization, and pricing of commodities and factors of production.

  • FINE 310 Financial Statement Analysis: Covers tools and techniques used to analyze financial statements, the quality of reported reporting, and credit and security analysis.
  • ACCT 320 Forensic Accounting Analytics: Introduces computer-assisted analytics techniques used to detect frauds in large accounting data sets.
