Through an immersive, supportive environment focused on research-led practice and experimental design, UCA facilitates students' formulation of individualized approaches to the field of landscape design. Participants can refine their skillsets and gain specialist knowledge across diverse areas such as ecological design, carbon capture landscapes, horticulture, and agricultural endeavors.

The program follows a trimester system:
Term 1
- Launch: Introduces the program, curriculum expectations, community engagement, and project opportunities through various activities like workshops and presentations.
- Experimentation and Innovation: Provides a platform for exploring and experimenting with new perspectives on design, analytical techniques, and production methods to strengthen existing and future practice.
- Research and Professional Contexts 1: Enhances research, analytical, and critical thinking skills, enabling participants to refine their understanding and contribution to this discipline.
- Opportunity Week: Involves collaboration with external partners to explore multidisciplinary topics like politics, economics, business, culture, or philosophy.
Term 2
- Studio Practice: Students embark on an "intensive engine" phase of individual project development under the guidance of a specialist tutor through research, concept development, and implementation. The outcome will be a comprehensive project showcasing their design capabilities.
- Research and Professional Contexts 2: Further focuses on research skills development and fosters communication excellence through two options:
- Collaborative Practice Project: Participants team up for undertaking a collectively defined, hands-on project.
- Creative Business Start-Up: Provides an in-depth understanding of professional business practices tailored for design-focused careers. This component is delivered collaboratively by the Business School for the Creative Industries and the Careers Department.
Term 3
- Final Realisation: Culmination of all research, development, concepts, and contextual analysis. Students converge their learnings into comprehensive final projects that reflect their individual mastery and potential impact within the field.
