It offers unparalleled insights into how decisions by individuals, businesses, and the government affect important aspects of everyone’s life, including employment opportunities, the prices of products and services, and the overall standards of living.

Our MSc in Economics (International Economics) will help you build on your undergraduate studies to develop advanced capabilities in the discipline with an emphasis on international economic relationships. The challenges faced by globalisation (e.g., trade wars, threats to global value chains) and by the international financial system (e.g., exchange rate misalignments, limitations to capital flows) are just examples of the challenges that the multilateral system is currently facing. Deepening your knowledge in this field will equip you with the tools to pursue a career in this exciting and fast-moving area.

The programme is designed to prepare you for a range of careers in which advanced economics analysis and independent thought are required, such as in international bodies and institutions. Also, graduates of the programme are well placed for further study in economics.

The University operates a credit framework for all taught programmes based on a 15-credit tariff. Modules can be either 15, 30, 45, 75 and 120 credits, and additionally for some masters dissertations, 90 credits.

Timetable

Course timetables are normally available one month before the start of the semester. Please note that while we make every effort to ensure that timetables are as student-friendly as possible, scheduled teaching can take place on any day of the week (Monday – Friday). Wednesday afternoons are normally reserved for sports and cultural activities.
