Overview

Entry Requirements

• 96-112 UCAS tariff points (from a maximum of four Advanced Level qualifications)
• A range of qualifications are accepted, including A/AS Levels, BTEC, Access Courses, International Baccalaureate (IB), Cambridge Pre-U, Extended Project, etc.

Teaching and Assessment

• A variety of teaching methods, including lectures, tutorials, seminars, practical workshops, coursework, and work-based placements
• Assessment methods include presentations, multimedia reports, displays, portfolios, individual research projects, essays, exams, and work in the Human Performance Laboratory

Careers and Further Study

• The program prepares students for a broad range of sport-related jobs, including sports development, adventure education, physical activity and health, sports coaching, fitness and recreation industry, school sports coordination, armed forces, youth work, and postgraduate research
• Graduates have begun careers as sports coaches, personal trainers, physical education teachers (primary and secondary), in the field of youth work, or within sports development

Support

• Studying at BGU is a student-centered experience with a friendly and supportive atmosphere
• Staff and students work together in an intimate campus community
• Support is available from the Student Advice team for help with funding arrangements, and from academic staff for academic support

Fees and Funding

• Information on fees, loans, and support is available on the BGU website
• The university offers a range of services to guide students through the funding process
• For 2024 entry, the application fee is £27, and students can make a maximum of 6 choices
• For the 2025 cycle, UCAS is removing the undergraduate application fee for students who have received free school meals (FSM) during the last six years
