Undergraduate Study
The University of Glasgow offers a joint degree programme in Civil Engineering with the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).
Civil Engineering
Civil Engineers design, develop, and create the built environment, improving quality of life across various sectors. The programme at SIT encompasses a wide range of topics, including:
- Study of buildings, bridges, and transport systems
- Geotechnics, dams, water supply, and environmental engineering The programme focuses on project-based learning, including a three-week Overseas Immersion Programme (OIP) in Glasgow, UK, and an Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP) comprising an eight-month structured learning programme embedded in industry.
Introducing the School of Engineering
The University of Glasgow established a Regius Chair of Civil Engineering and Mechanics in 1840, making it the oldest university school of engineering in the UK. The school:
- Delivers a world-class engineering education for over 160 years
- Has an excellent international reputation
- Has 2,500 undergraduate and postgraduate students taught by staff renowned for their leading-edge research

Programme Structure
The programme structure is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in civil engineering, including:
- A wide range of topics in civil engineering

Admission and Graduation
The degree programme is jointly offered with SIT, and students will graduate with a jointly-awarded degree from the University of Glasgow and SIT.
