Programme Overview

The objective of the OTHM Level 5 Diploma in Information Technology is to provide learners with an excellent foundation for a career in a range of organisations. It designed to ensure that each learner is ‘business ready’: a confident, independent thinker with a detailed knowledge of Information Technology, and equipped with the skills to adapt rapidly to change.

The qualification is ideal for those who have started, or are planning to move into, a career in private or public sector business. Successful completion of the Level 5 Diploma in Information Technology will provide learners with the opportunity to progress to further study or employment.

On successful completion of the qualification students will be able to complete the final year of a degree with the NCC Education Business Computing and Information Systems Top Up validated by the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), one of the many universities that recognise NCC Education qualifications, or pursue a career in the IT industry.

Progression

The qualification allows entry into BSc (Hons) Business Computing & Information Systems top-up qualifications in Computing (further entry requirements may apply), or to a third year of many UK university degree courses, or enables you to pursue a career in the IT industry.

Programme Learning Outcomes

The OTHM Level 5 Information Technology programme develops advanced skills in IT management, system analysis, and software development, preparing students for roles in IT project management and technical leadership. Learners are equipped to solve complex IT problems and implement strategic technology solutions within organizations.
