Programme Overview

The objective of the OTHM Level 4 Diploma in Information Technology is to provide a career path for learners who wish to develop a broad base of knowledge and skills that will enable them to work in a variety of roles in the IT industry.

The programme will focus on topics such as cyber security, computer programming, web and mobile applications, computer and network technology, systems analysis and design and managing digital information.

Successful completion of the OTHM Level 4 Diploma in Information Technology will support learners progressing to university, and to provide learners with the requisite skills and knowledge to enter the world of work in their chosen sector.

On successful completion of the qualification students will be able to embark on OTHM Level 5 Diploma in Information Technology (L5DIT), which is equivalent to the second year of a UK Bachelor’s degree, transfer to a university or pursue a career in the IT industry.

Progression

The qualification allows students entry to either the Level 5 Diploma in Information Technology, (which is equivalent to the second year of a UK Bachelor’s degree), or the second year of many UK university degree courses, or enables you to pursue a career in the IT industry.

Successful completion of the OTHM Level 4 Diploma in Information Technology will support learners progressing to university, and to provide learners with the requisite skills and knowledge to enter the world of work in their chosen sector.

The OTHM Level 4 Information Technology programme provides foundational knowledge in IT principles, systems, and applications, with a focus on developing practical technical skills. Learners are equipped to support IT operations, troubleshoot issues.
