Course Description
The BSc Financial Economics and Banking introduces students to a broad range of topics, including:
- Banking
- Financial intermediation
- Asset and liability management
- Financial decision making
- Financial markets and institutions Students will learn to apply economic theory in financial contexts, such as the appraisal of competing investment opportunities and the impact of government policy on the stock market and banking sector. The program also covers techniques like derivatives pricing, risk management methods, and portfolio management, as well as the use of financial software and complex data sources.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for the program, students must meet the following requirements:
- A/AS-levels: ABB, with two AS-levels considered in place of one A-level
- EPQ with A-levels: BBB + EPQ at grade B
- Access to HE Diploma: Pass relevant Diploma with 45 credits at Level 3, including 30 credits at Distinction
- GCSE: Grade 5/B in Mathematics and Grade 4/C in English Language
- International Baccalaureate: Pass Full Diploma with 30 points, including a minimum of grade 4 in SL Maths Analysis and Approach or 6 in SL Maths Application and Interpretation or 4 in HL if not held at GCSE
- BTEC National Extended Diploma: DDD in Business (plus 5 GCSEs at grade 5/B including Maths and English Language)
- T Levels: Distinction in Finance (plus 5 GCSEs at grade 5 including Maths and English)
- Other official national and international qualifications considered from across the world
Fees and Funding
The tuition fees for the program are as follows:
- UK Students: 」9,790 in the first year, subject to Parliamentary approval
- International Students: 」20,200 per year Students may be eligible for scholarships, and the University offers a range of funding options to support students.
