Assistant Test User

The Assistant Test User course provides an introduction to occupational testing, a grounding in administering tests to candidates, and maintaining security and confidentiality of the test materials and test data. Successful completion of this course qualifies you to administer occupational tests.

Occupational Test User: Ability

This course provides you with knowledge about the basic principles of scaling and standardisation, norm-referenced interpretation, classical test theory and IRT. You will learn about administering tests to candidates and the validity and utility of occupational assessments. The course focuses on relating assessment to job requirements, when tests should or should not be used, and how to provide written and oral feedback on ability tests. Test Users Ability are able to make choices between tests and to determine when to use or not use tests; have an understanding of the technical qualities required of tests sufficient for understanding but not for test construction; work independently as a test user; have the necessary knowledge and skills to interpret specific tests. Successful completion of this course qualifies you to administer, score and feedback all occupational ability tests.

Occupational Test User: Personality

This course enables you to make choices between questionnaires and to determine when to use or not use questionnaires; have an understanding of the technical qualities required of questionnaires sufficient for understanding but not for construction; work independently as a questionnaire user; have the necessary knowledge and skills to interpret specific questionnaires. Successful completion of this course qualifies you to administer, score and feedback the Managerial and Professional Profiler (MAPP).

MAPP is an integrated questionnaire which explores both personality and motivational dimensions. Whilst other questionnaires give an insight into underlying personality traits and behavioural preferences, MAPP includes the important fourth dimension of values and motivation. MAPP has been designed specifically for use with managerial and professional populations. It is appropriate when assessing high potential graduates, managers, senior executives and professionals at all levels.

Characteristics measured include:

  • Interpersonal style
  • Approach to tasks
  • Emotional makeup
  • Values and Motivation
