Program Overview
Introduction to Medical Sciences
The Medical Sciences program at Bangor University is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the science behind medicine. This program focuses on human physiology and anatomy, clinical diagnostics, infectious disease, and therapeutics, from molecular defects to gross anatomical changes.
Program Structure
The program is structured over three years, with optional additional years for international experience or placement. The first year provides a foundation in core scientific principles and disciplines, including Good Laboratory Practice, essential laboratory techniques, and data analysis. Students also explore human physiology and anatomy, cell biology, and chemistry and biochemistry.

Entry Requirements
- GCSE: Grade C/4 in English Language, Maths, and Science
- A Levels: To include Biology and at least one other science
- BTEC National Extended Diploma: DDM - DDD
- International Baccalaureate Diploma: Pass required
- Access: Pass required in Science or Bioscience diplomas

- UK and Ireland: Ł9,790 (full-time), Ł1,958 (placement year), Ł1,468 (international experience year)
