Program Overview


Bangor University's Mindfulness-Based Courses program is a unique Masters program that trains students to teach mindfulness-based practices. The program consists of four compulsory modules and one optional module, and offers a supportive and experiential learning environment. Compulsory modules:

  • Year 1: Foundation: This module focuses on exploring your own mindfulness practice and its theoretical underpinnings.
  • Year 2: Teaching 1: This module focuses on training students to teach core meditation practices and develop enquiry skills for MBSR/MBCT courses.
  • Year 3: Teaching 2: This module builds on the skills learned in Teaching 1 and explores the explicit, taught elements of MBCT/MBSR programs.
  • Year 4: Mindfulness Teaching Project: This module is the culmination of your training.
  • You will have your teaching assessed by experienced mindfulness teachers using the MBI:TAC tool.
