Program Overview

Our Health Psychology introductory short course explores the ways in which the study of psychology may be of benefit in maintaining health and treating illness. We will consider:

the nature of health beliefs

causes and treatment of stress

psychological factors in addictions, cancer and other conditions

pain and pain management

coping with chronic illnesses

maintaining health

the role of social and cultural factors in health.

This can be taken as a standalone short course or as a part of:
