This International Relations and Foreign Policy 2: Policy and Issues short course will extend your understanding of the analysis and practice of foreign policy and diplomacy. We will study contemporary foreign policy decisions and issues and then apply critical insights from selected literature to contemporary foreign policy within a comparative framework.

This course will deepen your understanding and analyses of the international system of states. Through the examination of a series of case studies, we evaluate the principles and practices of diplomatic interactions between states. We also examine relations between states, international institutions and non-governmental actors.

Assessment is via a 1000-word report (40%), 1500-word examination/in-class test (50%) and group presentation (10%).
