Program Overview


This sport rehabilitation program combines theory and hands-on experience in modern facilities, offering opportunities for students to boost their CVs and gain real-world experience through placements and the university's clinic. Taught by industry professionals, graduates are equipped with skills highly sought after in various fields, including sports clubs, the military, and the NHS. The program is accredited by BASRaT and boasts a high employment rate for graduates.

Program Outline


Outline:

  • The course combines theory, hands-on experience, critical reflection, and professional judgment.
  • Students will learn in modern, fully equipped facilities following a £16 million investment.
  • Students will have access to CV-boosting opportunities to kickstart their career before they graduate, including being part of the University's Health, Injury, and Performance (HIP) Hub.
  • Students will use the latest equipment to develop their practical skills.
  • Students will spend a minimum of 400 hours on clinical placement gaining real-world experience, with partners including professional sports clubs such as Hull City, Hull FC, and Hull KR, as well as private practitioners.
  • Students could develop their experience at the University's Health, Injury, and Performance (HIP) Hub.
  • This student-led clinic offers appointments to real patients from the local community and gives students the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice by overseeing their assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation as part of their degree.

Teaching:

  • Students will be taught by academics who work with both elite-level sports performers and NHS patients.
  • Students will also benefit from having industry-standard facilities right on campus to develop their skills.

  • The degree is accredited by the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT).
  • Graduates can apply to BASRaT to become a graduate member at the end of their degree.

This could include accommodation, travel, food and more. You can take out a tuition fee loan to cover the full cost of your course. One you’ve successfully applied for this, you don’t need to do anything else – the money is sent straight to us. You can also take out a maintenance loan of up to £10,227 a year to cover your living costs, depending on your household income. Remember, you won’t start paying your loans back until you’ve left University and earn more than £25,000 per year.
