Course overview

This Economics and FiNAce BSc Honours degree focuses on developing your understanding of modern economics and key fiNAce topics. You'll gain the skills that are critical to succeed in the fiNAce and economics sectors.

Studying a combination of topics across economics and fiNAce, you'll possess in-depth knowledge in areas such as:

    Most degrees are divided into stages. Each stage lasts for one academic year, and you'll complete modules totalling 120 credits by the end of each stage.

    Our teaching is informed by research. Course content may change periodically to reflect developments in the discipline, the requirements of external bodies and partners, and student feedback.

    ECO3018: FiNAcial Economics

    In this module you'll develop an understanding of tasks facing participants in the bond and stock markets. You'll also get an introduction to the Efficient Markets debate and the practical side of fiNAcial market risk management.

    You'll deepen your insight into the methods used by economists to understand the workings of the modern economy. You'll learn about the relationship between the government and the fiNAcial sector. You'll also take higher-level modules in microeconomics and macroeconomics.

    The econometrics module will give you the ability to interpret and evaluate the results of applied research in economics and fiNAce.

    You will also study topics in corporate fiNAce. You'll raise your awareness of fiNAcial issues in the business environment such as asset pricing and dividend policy.
