Human Resource Management BSc (Hons)

The Human Resource Management BSc (Hons) course at Brunel University is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of current theory and practice relating to Human Resource Management (HRM).

Course Overview

This course will equip students with the skills to become effective and responsible HR professionals, understanding the purpose and key objectives of the HRM function in contemporary organisations. Students will learn about employment regulation, recruitment, training, talent development, employee wellbeing, and performance management. They will also develop competencies in analysing key contemporary labour market trends and their significance for workforce planning in both domestic and international organisational contexts.

Course Structure

The course is available as a 3-year full-time or 4-year full-time with placement option, starting in September.

• Year 1: Compulsory modules include International Business Environment, Introduction to Accounting and Financial Management, Introduction to Management Enquiry, Managing Information with Technology, Organisational Behaviour, and Principles and Practice of Marketing.
• Year 2: Compulsory modules include Critical Perspectives in Management, Diversity Management in Organisations, Employment Relations, Human Resource Management and its International Dimensions, Managing Change and Creativity, and Research Methods in Business and Management.
• Year 3: Compulsory modules include Contemporary Human Resource Management in Context, Issues and Controversies in Management Project, and Organisational Structure, Functions and Service Delivery. Optional modules include Business Ethics, Environmental Sustainability and Governance, Innovation and Knowledge Management, Gender and Organisations, Strategic Human Resource Management, and Strategic Management.

Entry Requirements

For the 2026/2027 academic year, the standard offer is:

• ABB at A-level
• DDM in a related BTEC subject
• 31 points in the International Baccalaureate GCSE requirements include a minimum of five GCSEs, with Mathematics (grade C/4) and either English Language (grade C/4) or English Literature (grade B/5).

Fees and Funding

The tuition fees for the 2026/2027 academic year are:

• Ł9,535 for full-time UK students
• Ł19,320 for full-time international students
• Ł1,385 for the placement year

Teaching and Learning
