Course overview

This programme has been accredited by the Royal Society of Biology following an independent and rigorous assessment. Accredited degree programmes contain a solid academic foundation in biological knowledge and key skills, and prepare graduates to address the needs of employers. The accreditation criteria require evidence that graduates from accredited programmes meet defined sets of learning outcomes, including subject knowledge, technical ability and transferable skills. Please note that the accreditation applies to Levels 4, 5 and 6 of the Single Honours programme only.

While studying Bioveterinary Science at Chester, you will receive a holistic approach to animal health that offers an interesting and thorough understanding of how disease impacts animals. You will also explore the wider implications of animal health, examining its impacts upon wildlife ecology and the human population.

This holistic approach to animal health offers anyone studying Bioveterinary Science at Chester an interesting and complete understanding of how a disease will impact an individual animal.     Teaching methods

    This course is delivered using methods and techniques that provide experience and training designed to improve employability, such as laboratory skills. You will also have the opportunity to meet those already working in the area of bioveterinary science.


    Assessment

    Assessments are designed to encourage academic and workplace skills. They include coursework and end-of-module examinations. Coursework includes essays and reports, data processing and presentations. Examinations may include multiple-choice papers, essays, practical assessments and data handling questions.


    Work based learning

    As part of your studies you may take our

    Work Based Learning

    module, where you will be fully supported in securing a work placement of at least 150 hours, which you may be able to use in trying out a future career.
