Course overview
At Chester Business School we bring studying events management to life with inspiring and real experiences, interactive learning, access and exposure to the industry, and an opportunity to develop and manage your own events. This means that we develop outstanding, career ready, events professionals.
Volunteering is an important element of your course that will help you to really stand out when you enter the industry. We offer an exciting and diverse range of volunteering opportunities such as Chester Christmas parades, regional and national sporting events, music festivals and cultural events.
We will equip you with much more than events management subject knowledge. We will help you develop the extra skills that employers are seeking. The world of events management is highly competitive, diverse and dynamic, but you will leave us with experiences that will give you an edge at interview and in the workplace. We work closely with the Association of Events Management Educators (AEME) and with key stakeholders in the events industry to ensure content is up to date and industry relevant, and embeds key events management skills throughout the programme.
You can also combine Events Management with
International Tourism Management, Marketing Management

.Why study this course with us?
Events encompass a broad range of areas, including exhibitions, meetings, sport, tourism, weddings, music and the arts. Our highly rated course combines theory and practice to provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills for a successful career in events management and related industries.
Everything you study at Chester Business School will be relevant to events management and prepare you to succeed in your future career. You’ll begin planning and delivering a real event as part of a team in your second year, as well as having the chance to shape your career path through a five-week work placement that suits your personal interests and ambitions.
You will also have the chance to undertake an optional year-long placement after your second year which really brings your course to life and will enhance your graduate employment prospects. How does a work placement at Disney or FIFA sound? You may even have a year studying events management abroad in Europe, North America, Asia or Australasia.
We can also tailor your learning towards giving you the competitive edge you need to succeed in events management. In final year this approach is embedded within many of the projects you can opt to undertake, helping you to shape your learning and skills development. Upon completion we have seen our
