Comics and Graphic Novels BA (Hons)
Overview
Study the fundamental drawing, design, communication, and narrative skills needed to create a story in comic form. Learn from professionals who make comics for Shockdom, Dennis Publishing, and Viz Comic. Develop your craft by responding creatively to live briefs and undertaking projects that contribute to your final portfolio.

Year 2 Core Modules

Optional Work Placement Year

Entry Requirements
- Year 1 entry: 96-112 points, including a creative subject, from any combination of recognized Level 3 qualifications and a creative portfolio showing skills in your chosen discipline.
- Non-EU international students: check UKVI-compliant English language requirements.
- Alternative degree with integrated foundation year: available if you need additional preparation or don't have sufficient grades to join Year 1.
- Direct entry to later years: possible if you have previously studied at higher education level.
Employability
- Career opportunities: self-publishing, graphic novel publishing, advertising, marketing, public relations, journalism, editing, publishing, and graphic design.
- Expected career routes: film and TV, games, advertising, comics, and journalism.
- Work placement: at least one two-week work placement between Year 2 and Year 3, with opportunities for more workplace experiences through our placement officer.
Tuition Fees
- Full-time: £9,535 per year (UK applicants), £17,000 per year (international applicants)
- Part-time: £4,635 per year (UK applicants)
Other Course Routes
