Course overview

If you have an enquiring mind, are interested in a youth-orientated perspective in response to these questions and being part of the solution, then criminology with youth studies is for you.

You graduate with specialist knowledge of criminology in a youth context, and can enjoy careers in criminal justice, the police and probation services, and community development roles.

You consider youth transitions, youth culture and youth politics, and explore the relationship between education, training and work, how this influences a young person’s transition to adulthood, and their behaviours. You also explore youth justice policy and issues around young people and the criminal justice system. And think through issues affecting young people at the local and global level.

This course includes a foundation year - ideal if you need additional preparation or if you don't have sufficient grades to join Year 1 of a degree.
