This award enables you to design a focused area of study in an area of ultrasound.
Course Details
How You Learn
- Your teaching is shared with other clinical modules where possible.
- The Pharmaceutical Analytical Consultancy Services lab and Northern Region Ultrasound Simulation Centre are fully integrated into delivering your module.
- You are encouraged to take ownership of your own and your peers' learning.
- Your direct contact time is supplemented with the University's virtual learning environment.
- To become an autonomous ultrasound practitioner, you undertake a clinical placement.
- Your placement develops your comprehensive and critical understanding to practice in your chosen area of ultrasound.
- You also have a clinical mentor who guides you throughout your training and provides an invaluable source of support.
How You Are Assessed
- The award is assessed in two parts:
- Literature review (2,500 words, 100% weighting) submitted in week 37
- Final triggered assessment in week 42

- You need a PgCert Medical Ultrasound and a clinical placement.
