Overview
This course introduces you to Unreal Engine with a focus on level design and effects to create a stimulating and aesthetic environment. You understand the general production pipeline processes and become confident in creating your own scenes to interact with.

Computer Games
Course Overview
You learn through a combination of live sessions, pre-recorded material, and allocated tasks. For each session, you are introduced to individual tasks with the latter part of the session focusing on live feedback and guidance on a group and individual basis. You use Microsoft Teams as the primary interface.
This course is delivered online. Please check the entry requirements tab before making your application to ensure you meet the entry criteria and have all the minimum equipment necessary to take part.
Summer University
Start date: Starts Tuesday 3 June, Tuesdays and Thursdays for four weeks, 6.00pm-9.00pm
You can study up to 30 credits at Summer University and you can select up to three modules on the same application form. If you would like to add a module later, or change one of your choices, then please note that this course has now started.
Age Restriction
Due to the content and delivery of our Summer University courses, it is advised that applicants are aged 16+ at the time of enrolment. If you are applying for an online course and are under the age of 18 at the time of enrolment, you must provide a completed parental consent form.

Course Details
What You Study
- Creation of 3D assets, materials, particles, and audio for games
- Suitable file formats, compression settings, and sizes used for game engines, when creating scenes
- Import, manage, and implement assets into a contemporary game engine
Your practical sessions introduce techniques and building on the understanding of scene creation for a small-scale game environment. You receive weekly verbal feedback on your progress. You also receive peer review and critiques at various points to aid your development.
How You Are Assessed
You are assigned tasks at the end of each live session, and your assessment is a single summative submission at the end of the final week.

- 8 GB RAM
- Unreal Engine 5 (available once you have registered for an account)
As this is an online course, you need access to a computer and be comfortable learning through an online platform. A strong and stable internet connection is required, and a webcam and microphone to participate in any interactive elements of the course.
International Applicants
International applicants must have an IELTS overall score of 5.5 or higher.
