Course Details
How You Learn
You are taught at the University in five two-week blocks. Various teaching methods are used including keynote lectures, small group teaching, problem-solving and decision-making exercises, practical ultrasound sessions and inter-professional workshops. You are encouraged to take ownership of your own and your peers’ learning. Direct contact time is supplemented with the virtual learning environment.
To become an autonomous ultrasound practitioner you are required to carry out a clinical placement. At your placement you develop the comprehensive and critical understanding to practice in your chosen area of ultrasound. You also have a clinical mentor who guides you throughout your training and provides an invaluable source of support.
How You Are Assessed
The award is assessed in two parts:
- Written case study
- Final triggered assessment
Entry Requirements
You need a PgCert Medical Ultrasound and a clinical placement.
