Animation and Visual Effects (Online)

Overview

This is an introduction to animation and visual effects if you have little or no previous experience. You explore 3D animation and visual effects process: animation, modelling, texturing, lighting, rendering and compositing.

Assessment

You submit a portfolio of videos to demonstrate your understanding of techniques covered in the classes.


Entry Requirements

  • Minimum Software Requirements:
    • Autodesk Maya (available free for students)
    • Nuke (non-commercial available free)
    • Adobe Photoshop or Gimp (open source)
  • Hardware Requirements: Check the hardware requirements outlined on the Autodesk Maya website to ensure you can run the software.
  • International Applicants: IELTS overall score of 5.5 or higher
  • Age Restriction: Advised that applicants are aged 16+ at the time of enrolment. If under 18, a completed parental consent form is required.
