Program Overview
Introduction to Actuarial Science BSc (Hons)
The Actuarial Science BSc (Hons) program at the University of Kent is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in actuarial science, preparing them for a career in the financial services industry. The program is fully accredited by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) and offers exemptions from six of the thirteen professional examinations required to become a qualified actuary.
Program Overview
The program is a three-year, full-time course that covers a range of topics, including mathematics, statistics, finance, and economics. Students will develop key skills in mathematical and statistical modeling, data analysis, and financial risk management. The program also includes a year in industry option, which provides students with the opportunity to gain practical experience in the field.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for the program, students must meet the following entry requirements:
- AAB at A level, including Mathematics at A but excluding Use of Maths
- 136 tariff points from the IB Diploma, including Mathematics or Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches at 6 at HL
- DM plus A Level Maths at A (but excluding Use of Maths) for BTEC Nationals
- English language requirements: IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component, or equivalent
Fees and Funding
The tuition fees for the program are:

- International: £23,500
- Fees for year in industry: £1,905
