Introduction to the University of Kent

Professional Practice MA, MSc Program
The Professional Practice MA, MSc program is a part-time, work-related learning program designed for professionals from various private, public, and third sector settings. The program offers the opportunity to attain academic recognition for skills, knowledge, and experience developed in the workplace.
Program Structure
The program is delivered over three academic years, with taught sessions held on average four weekends a year at the Medway campus. The program includes a combination of core and optional modules, with the option to take modules of personal and professional interest from the Centre for Professional Practice or the University of Kent Module Catalogue.
Entry Requirements
Applicants are normally required to have a minimum of two years' professional experience and hold an undergraduate degree or equivalent professional qualification. International students are also welcome to apply, with English language requirements equivalent to B2 on CEFR.
Course Structure
The program includes the following modules:
- Stage 1 (Year 1): Evidence-Based Practice (30 credits) and Learning and Development (30 credits)
- Stage 2 (Year 2): Compulsory module plus a module equalling 30 credits from across the Centre or University catalogue (subject to availability and student numbers)
- Stage 3 (Year 3): Work-related Project and Dissertation (60 credits)
Fees and Funding
The 2025/26 annual tuition fees for this course are:
- Professional Practice (General) - MA at Medway: £3,400 (UK), TBC (EU), TBC (International)
