How You'll Study

Teaching is by means of lectures, laboratory practicals, workshops, and tutorials, with more extensive experimental projects at levels 3 and 4. Assessment is by means of examination and continuous assessment. Honours projects are typically assessed on the basis of a written dissertation.

Entry Requirements

Qualifications

  • SQA Highers: AABB (or better) for Standard, BBB (or better) for Minimum, and BB for Adjusted.
  • A Levels: BBB (or better) for Standard, BBC (or better) for Minimum, and CCC for Adjusted.
  • International Baccalaureate: 32 points, including 5, 5, 5 at HL, with two Mathematics/Science subjects at HL.
  • Irish Leaving Certificate: 5H with 3 at H2 AND 2 at H3, including a minimum of H3 from two Science or Mathematics subjects.

English Language Requirements

  • IELTS Academic: 6.0 overall, with 5.5 in Listening, Reading, Speaking, and 6.0 in Writing.
  • TOEFL iBT: 78 overall, with 17 in Listening, 18 in Reading, 20 in Speaking, and 21 in Writing.
  • PTE Academic: 59 overall, with 59 in Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing.
  • Cambridge English B2 First, C1 Advanced, or C2 Proficiency: 169 overall, with 162 in Listening, Reading, Speaking, and 169 in Writing.

Fees and Funding

  • EU/International students: £24,800
  • Self-funded international students commencing eligible undergraduate programs in 2025/26 will receive a £6,000 tuition waiver for every year of their program.

  • The Psychophysiology Centre consists of several spacious rooms that house electroencephalographic (EEG) equipment and sound-attenuated, shielded testing booths.
  • The School of Psychology has four in-house eye trackers. The Eyelink 1000 system allows the recording of eye gaze at a sampling rate of 1000 Hz.
