Program Overview


BA (Hons) Photography

The BA (Hons) Photography course is designed to inspire students and help them develop their own photographic voice. The course covers a wide range of photographic approaches, from fine art and documentary to fashion and commercial work.


The Course

The course begins with a focus on developing technical photography skills and historical and contemporary perspectives on photography. Students gain knowledge about iconic photographers and image impact while developing practical competencies across all aspects of photography, from lighting to photographic workflow.

BA (Hons) Photography students have access to dedicated lighting studios and a wide range of professional camera and lighting equipment for studio and location work. Digital print resources enable professional-standard, large-format digital printing and print finishing.

Career Opportunities

Graduates have gone on to work as freelance photographers, for agencies, in galleries and curating, and in post-production. Graduates may also continue to postgraduate study, including onto the MA Photography.
