Course structure
A typical week for you will include lectures, seminars, group work, and e-learning. You'll also be encouraged to develop independent study skills.
As well as assessments that count towards your degree, your progress will be evaluated by ongoing assessments for feedback and consolidating your learning. Assessment methods include written coursework, projects, presentations, and exams.
Course modules
Final year (national level 6):
- International Money and Banking (30 credits) Gain an understanding of money banking and finance. Examine the theories necessary to understand the determination of rates of return, the pricing of assets and the behaviour of asset markets.
- Financial Management (30 credits) Explore key strategic decisions in a variety of business finance areas and theories in a digital world. Develop a critical understanding of how large organizations structure their finance. Understand the management of debt and equity to increase the efficiency of the organization and foster sustainability.
- Strategic Management Accounting (30 credits) Consider a range of strategic management accounting tools. Explore the concept of financial decision making within a firm with a view of maximising profits and ensuring a sustainable future for the organisation in a digital world.
- Corporate Governance and Ethics (30 credits) Study corporate governance as a discipline from a national perspective. Consider corporate governance in the context of a digital world. Examine the impact of weaknesses and failures of corporate governance on companies and on society.
