Overview

Mentoring and Coaching (DL) is a Level 7 course for teachers and educators, delivered via distance learning. You'll explore the principles, concepts, theories, and models relating to the development of coaching, guidance, and mentoring skills, and evaluate the impact these might have on teaching and learning.

Course structure

Our Mentoring and Coaching course is taught via tutor and group-led discussion sessions, case studies, self/peer reflection, evaluation of visual or audio recordings, research, and self-directed study. Assessment methods include written commentary and transcript, and a written report.

Demonstrate the development of related skills, the personal qualities that underpin effective learning relationships and the ability to integrate these skills into your professional practice. Develop supportive relationships, both personal and professional, as well as awareness of the potential of all learners.

This distance learning course can be studied from anywhere in the world. You'll need internet access to use our Virtual Learning Environment, where you will access specially designed learning materials, e-books, e-journals, relevant websites and multimedia.

Entry requirements

Applicants are required to be working in a teaching/educator role.
