Human Resource Management (Masters Stage) MSc

Course Overview

The Human Resource Management (Masters Stage) MSc is a postgraduate program designed for individuals who have already completed a Graduate Membership (Postgraduate Diploma equivalent) from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or have demonstrated the knowledge requirements to gain direct entry to the Master's stage. The program focuses on integrating human resource management from strategy to application, which is explored through a Dissertation and Supporting Research Methods workshops.


Study Style

The program is taught through expert, supportive staff and small-group learning. Students are assessed 100% by coursework. The program is based in the new, purpose-built Business School at the Oxstalls Campus, Gloucester, where students develop professionally and gain knowledge and skills from lecturers who are current and active business professionals.


Entry Requirements

  • A pass in a relevant Post Graduate Diploma HR/M/D, or possess CIPD PDS/PQS or PAC award
  • IELTS 6.5 (6.0 writing, 5.5 all other components) for EU and international students

  • Dissertation (HR) (BM7506)
    • Key elements of professional competence are strategic awareness, a business orientation, and a concern with adding value through human resource (HR) practice. Skilled HR practitioners should be able to research issues relevant to their organisations to influence policy and practice and/or to instigate changes for the benefit of individuals, groups, and the organisation.

      • 001: 10% Assignment: Individual: Research Proposal 1,500 words
      • 002: 80% Dissertation / Major Project: Final Dissertation 15,000 words
