Program Overview
Filmmaking MA
The MA in Filmmaking challenges students to innovate within and beyond the boundaries of moving-image-making practices. Situated within the Nottingham School of Art & Design, this program enables students to explore and experiment in both film production and exhibition, enhanced by intellectually stimulating discussions and workshops.
About this course
This course is designed for filmmakers who want to push boundaries and redefine how sound and image interact. Students will explore evolving forms of storytelling and prepare to contribute to the future of cinema through innovation and experimentation. The program focuses on experimenting with form, sound, and image, responding creatively to intellectual discussions and leading to innovation in digital manipulation and capturing sound and moving image.
What you'll study
The curriculum has flexible features to enable students to direct their own journey. It is highly personalized to support students entering from different backgrounds and experiences. The program includes experimentation in the first part of the year and the negotiation of the personal film project.
