We have a range of facilities to support your studies. Our laboratories and workshops contain machinery and equipment that meet industry standards. These include concrete, timber, advanced materials, and geomaterials laboratories. You’ll also have access to specialist computer and teaching facilities.

If you want to pursue a career as a civil or structural engineer or go further as a researcher or academic, our course equips you to take the next step. We work with industrial partners to make sure that you develop the technical, communication and design expertise that employers value in graduates. You’ll also have the chance to study with students on other construction-related MSc courses, preparing you for working in industry. Our students have gone on to work in some of the top UK and overseas engineering and design companies, including AECOM, Atkins and Foster & Partners.
