Overview
Editing lies at the heart of filmmaking and calls for knowledge of film grammar and storytelling techniques. On this course you will receive a comprehensive instruction in how to use the editing interface of the professional Adobe Premiere Pro suite, not only for basic picture editing but also for sound and creative editing. Like all our classes at Met Film School Berlin the Four-Week Creative Editing course is an intensive, industry-focused training experience: Throughout the programme you will get to set your newly learned technical and creative editing skills into practice in a variety of genres, ranging from editing of your own rushes to rushes in documentary, multi-camera concert and comedy.

What you will study
The following list is an overview of the topics and themes covered in Four-Week Creative Editing.
First Week
Students will be taught how to use Adobe Premiere Pro confidently. Covering the key areas of editing, such as image, sound and sequencing, and understand how to organise workflow appropriately.
Second Week
During the second week you will split your time between building your Adobe Premiere Pro skills and improving your knowledge of creative editing and how to enhance a narrative.
Third Week
The third week of the course will focus on building both your creative and technical capabilities as an editor. You will examine the following areas:
- Genre editing: comedy, horror, multi-camera events and documentary
- The emotional dynamics of a story
- The impact of music and sound design
Fourth Week
The final week of the course will focus on strengthening your strategic and technical capabilities as an editor.
Entry Requirements
Entry Requirements for Berlin
- Minimum Age: 18 at the start of the course.
- This course is open enrolment and there are no entry requirements.
- In order to get the most out of the course, you should be able to both speak and write in English to a reasonable standard.
- Please be aware that we have a limited number of places available for each course intake and operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

- Duration: Four Weeks Full-Time (Monday – Friday, 10am – 5pm).
- Location: MetFilm School Campus at Molecule Studios.
