Course Details
Learners complete two taught modules from the MA in Education, Learning and Development. These modules engage participants in the underpinning concepts, theories and practices associated with the design and implementation of effective learning for all adult learners.
Modules
Professional Practice (10 ECTS)
Participants explore and evaluate contemporary learning theories along with implementing practical strategies to motivate and engage learners. Participants are introduced to a range of educational, learning and development strategies, which are universally designed to support all participants.
Learning Designs: Contexts and Considerations (10 ECTS)
Professionals working in the fields of education, learning and development work in a dynamic and demanding environment. This module enables participants to engage with the different forms of learning used in education and in organisational settings such as accredited and non-accredited learning.
Entry Requirements
Applicants will need a Level 8 Primary degree in their area of expertise. Applicants are also required to have lecturing or training experience with adult learners. The minimum experience requirement for the Certificate is 25 hours.

An Academic Administration Fee of EUR 250 is payable each September at the start of term.

Graduates of the Special Purpose Certificate in Training & Education will be able to progress to Postgraduate Diploma or MA in Education, Learning and Development.

This program provides Level 9 Certificate in Education, Learning and Development to help individuals improve their skills in designing, teaching, assessing, and evaluating educational programs in line with best practices. Learners complete two modules from Griffith College's MA in Education, Learning & Development program.

- Modules: Participants complete two taught modules from the MA in Education, Learning and Development:
- Professional Practice (10 ECTS): Explores contemporary learning theories, evaluates practical strategies to motivate and engage learners, introduces educational, learning and development strategies with a focus on universal design, and utilizes technology to enhance learning.
- Learning Designs: Contexts and Considerations (10 ECTS): Engages participants with various forms of learning used in education and organizational settings, challenges participants' pre-conceptions of education, learning, and development, provides opportunities to trial different learning models, and explores the positioning of learning opportunities within the broader context of quality assurance and policy.
- Structure: This program is delivered on a part-time basis over one semester, with approximately three Saturday classes held on campus.

- Equivalent qualifications to the Level 8 primary degree requirement for EU students, as recognized by the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland (NQAI).

Entry Requirements for ALL Students:
- Applicants are required to provide evidence of their lecturing or training experience with adult learners. This evidence can be in the form of a reference letter from the person/organization facilitating the lecturing/training practice or a copy of the applicant's timetable.
- For applicants who previously undertook other courses as part of their study journey, Griffith College can consider the Accreditation of Prior Learning and Prior Experience (APL/APEL) when evaluating their application. Students who wish to be considered under this arrangement should indicate their interest during the application process, and Griffith College will review their documentation accordingly.
English Language Proficiency:
- All applicants must demonstrate proficiency in the English language. Griffith College accepts the online Duolingo English Test (DET) for this purpose.
