Overview
The MSc in Procurement and Supply Chain Management is a postgraduate program designed to equip learners with the specialist skills required for successful careers in procurement and supply management across various industries.
Course Details
The program includes the option of a postgraduate diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management for learners who complete the 60 ECTS in taught modules and do not wish to complete the MSc dissertation.
Stage 1 - Semester 1
Sustainable Procurement
This module offers advanced insights into the theory, practices, processes, and contemporary perspectives in Sustainable Procurement within an international context.
Supply Chain Management
The supply chain management module aims to provide learners with advanced knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of modern supply chains.
Sustainable Finance
The evolving ESG, and sustainable finance legal and regulatory landscape, is having a significant impact on the financial services sector, and organisations and their financing policy and decision-making.
Circular Economy
This module will equip learners with the practical skills necessary to develop and implement effective circular procurement strategies.
Stage 1 - Semester 2
Business Research Methods
In this module, learners will gain knowledge and insight into the nature, purpose, and significance of business, commercial and academic research.
Leadership for Organisations
The main purpose of this module is to provide a framework for learners to understand the significant role played by leadership in shaping organisational culture, in communication across the organisation and in responding to and driving organisational change.
Technology for Procurement Professionals
This module focuses on supply chain information systems and technologies, essential for modern procurement.
Business Negotiations
The module equips learners, with the essential knowledge and skills required to engage in effective and ethical negotiations within the context of supply chain management.
Fostering Sustainable Practices
This module relate to the supply chain impact on communities and society, on environmental aspects, and on ethical trading and business conduct from a sustainable procurement perspective.
Electives - Semester 2
Sustainable SMEs: Building Resilience and Compliance
This module introduces and develops the concepts, perspectives and tools associated with the European (EU) Voluntary Small, Medium, Enterprise(VSME) standard, recommended.
Logistics and International Trade
The module brings an international perspective that focuses on the interrelationships between logistics, production, distribution and consumption.
Research Dissertation
MSc Dissertation
The dissertation module gives learners the chance to delve deeply into a specific area or issue at the core of procurement and supply chain management.
Dissertation by Practice – Industry Report
The dissertation by practice industry project module involves an in-depth exploration of a specialised area or issue central to a key procurement and supply chain area.
Entry Requirements
- Primary Honours Degree in a business/purchasing/supply management related discipline or a postgraduate related qualification and/or experiential learning.
- Non-business graduates with substantial work experience may apply but will be subject to interview.
- English Language Proficiency: 6.5 in IELTS, 575 TOEFL or equivalent.

- Irish/EU citizens, living in Ireland: EUR 10,350.00 (Dublin), EUR 8,150.00 (Limerick)

Progression
- Academic Progression: On completion of the Level 9 MSc in International Procurement and Supply Management students may progress onto a range of Level 10 Doctoral programmes on the National Qualifications Framework.
