Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management

Overview

The Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management (Level 7, 60 ECTS) programme provides learners with advanced knowledge and awareness of sustainable procurement policies and practices within organisations across a wide range of industries and service providers.


Course Details

Modules

  • Purchasing and Procurement (Level 6, 10 ECTS)
    • This module aims to provide a clear understanding of the key role that purchasing and procurement play within an organisation.
  • Introduction to Supply Chain (Level 6, 10 ECTS)
    • This module investigates the origins of SCM and how it has evolved over time.
  • Business and Operations Management (Level 6, 10 ECTS)
    • This module aims to prepare learners for employment in the areas of procurement and supply chain management of organisations across a wide range of industries and service providers.
  • Technology, Data Management and Analysis (Level 7, 10 ECTS)
    • This module is divided into two parts, introducing learners to quantitative analysis approaches in logistics and supply chain management.
  • Commercial Relationships (Level 7, 5 ECTS)
    • The aim of this module is to introduce the learner to relationship management and how they manage their commercial relationships both with suppliers and their internal customers.
  • Strategic Procurement (Level 7, 10 ECTS)
    • This module builds on the concepts introduced in the stage 1 Purchasing and Procurement module.
  • Negotiation (Level 7, 5 ECTS)
    • This module aims to equip learners with the resources and skills required to engage in highly effective negotiations.

Entry Requirements

  • Learners must have completed the Certificate in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
  • Applicants under 23 years must meet the minimum entry requirements of a Leaving Certificate with a minimum grade of H5 in at least two higher-level papers, together with a minimum of four O6/H7 grades in ordinary level subjects, to include maths and a language, or equivalent qualification and/or experience.
  • Applicants over 23 years may apply on the basis of previous work experience and a demonstration of commitment to further education.

Tuition Fees

  • Irish/EU citizens, living in Ireland: EUR 6,350.00
  • An Academic Administration Fee of €250 is payable each September at the start of term.
  • A 2% Learner Protection Charge is applicable each academic year in addition to the fees quoted.

Progression

  • Graduates of this programme will be able to progress to entry-level positions in Procurement and Supply Chain functions/advanced positions that they did not previously have the academic qualification to pursue.
  • Learners can progress to more advanced roles and opportunities in the field.
  • Progression to the BA (Hons) in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, and the Postgraduate Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management are also available.
