This module will develop your knowledge and understanding of the pathophysiology and pharmacology of acute and long-term conditions.

We will explore key pathological processes (e.g: infection, acute and chronic inflammation, autoimmunity, cell death, and tissue damage) and how these form the basis of various diseases. The alterations in organ systems and the clinical manifestations will be examined.

The pharmacological management of conditions will be studied, which will enable you to discuss the rationale and implications for drug therapy relevant to specific disease processes.

This module runs in semester 1, and starts on 4 October 2022.

This is a face-to-face course. There are two assessments: a written assignment and a multiple-choice exam.

This module is subject to having a viable number of students to run.
