Through a 12-week assessment phase, candidates demonstrate their teaching skills, knowledge, and curriculum understanding to become fully certified to teach in primary or secondary education across the UK.
Program Outline
Degree Overview:
The Assessment Only route allows suitably qualified and experienced candidates to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) without the need for extensive training. It is a one-year full-time program based at the Bishop Otter Campus in Chichester.
- Objectives: The objective of the program is to provide candidates with the necessary knowledge and skills to become qualified teachers in primary or secondary education.
- Program Description: The Assessment Only route is designed for candidates who already have a relevant degree and significant teaching experience. The program involves a 12-week assessment phase, following an Initial Assessment Visit by a university assessor. During this time, candidates are assessed on their teaching skills, knowledge, and understanding of the curriculum. Candidates must meet DfE compliancy criteria and required teaching experience.
