Year 1:

  • Required Modules:
  • Historical Skills, Sources & Approaches (30 credits)
  • The World Economy and its History (30 credits)
  • Principles of Economics (30 credits)
  • Optional Modules:
  • Students are required to choose 30 credits of optional modules from a range of options, typically including:
  • Medieval Worlds: Connection, Comparison & Transformation (300-1500AD) (30 credits)
  • Early Modern Worlds (30 credits)
  • Making the Modern World, 1780-1900 (15 credits)
  • Making the Modern World, 1900-present (15 credits)

Year 2 & 3:

  • Students choose a combination of required and optional modules to total 360 credits across three years.
  • The specific modules offered in Year 2 and 3 may change.
  • Students may choose to conduct supervised research for a dissertation in either history or political economy in their final year.

Assessment:

  • A combination of coursework and written/practical examinations will be used to assess student performance.

  • Coursework will contribute roughly 50% and examinations around 50% towards the final mark.

Full time tuition fees UK: The UK tuition fee for the 2024-25 academic year is currently £9,250 per year. This is based on the UK Government's cap. Full time tuition fees International The International tuition fee for the 2024-2025 academic year is £27,996 per year. Please note that the International tuition fee is subject to annual increases in subsequent years of study, in line with King's terms and conditions. All International applicants to Undergraduate programmes are required to pay a deposit of £2000 against their first year's tuition fee. King’s will continue to invoice for a proportion of King's tuition fees. You should also budget to pay for the associated subsistence costs, such as travel, visas, accommodation and food as well as any vaccination/immunisations required by the country to which you are travelling.
