Course Essentials

The primary aim of the course is to ensure that King’s nursing graduates can deliver safe, effective and compassionate care to the public at their point of registration and that they have the ability to develop and refine their proficiencies as qualified practitioners. Nurses graduating from the course will meet the academic and clinical standards set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (2018), King’s College London and Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (2016).

Course Aims

• Achievement of the outcome proficiencies (NMC 2018) evidenced through clinical and academic work
• Demonstrate an evidence-based critical understanding of health care as it is delivered in different health care contexts and to diverse patient groups
• The ability to understand research process and research findings and to apply research findings to the delivery of sensitive nursing care
• The ability to lead others in the development and delivery of mental health nursing care in a variety of contexts
• The ability to communicate clinical complexity whilst retaining a patient-centred approach to care delivery and an awareness of the importance of holism in care delivery
• The development of a pro-active approach to their own continuing professional development
• The fulfilment of the academic requirements of King’s College London for the award of Degree (BSc Hons)

Selection Process

T Levels

• For this course, we can consider the T Level in Health with:
  • Merit overall and B in the Core Component or
  • Merit overall and C in the Core Component (contextual entry requirement)

Shortlisting

The Interview

Courses are divided into modules, and students on this BSc (Hons) course take modules totalling 360 credits.
