Our Fixed & Removable Prosthodontics MClinDent is a comprehensive restorative dentistry course focusing on fixed and removable prosthodontics, designed to advance skills in complex multi-disciplinary dental problems. Designed for dental practitioners in high-level practice, you will use these skills in your own practice throughout the course. This course is mostly delivered online, so you can study anywhere in the world with minimum disruption to your professional and personal life while benefiting from world-class teaching. Entry requirements
UK applicants
- A recognised undergraduate dental qualification
- A dental qualification acceptable to King's and employment as a dentist in a dental practice, dental school, hospital, or community dental services environment.
- Access to adequate clinical facilities and to patients requiring treatment relevant to the subject area.
- Approved photography equipment, as part of the monitoring process (advice on this will be given in the first face-to-face teaching block).
- Headset, microphone and webcam
- High quality internet connection for tutorials with minimum speeds of 2Mbps down and 3Mbps up
- JavaScript, cookies and pop up windows must be enabled.
International applicants
- A Dental degree from a recognised institution. The recognised status of an institution will be assessed after submission of an application.
- English language band: D
- To study at King's, it is essential that you can communicate in English effectively in an academic environment. You are usually required to provide certification of your competence in English before starting your studies.
Selection process
- Our first application deadline is 1 November 2025 (23:59 UK time). The final application deadline for this programme is 21 November 2025 (23:59 UK time).

- if the programme is not yet full, we will continue to accept applications until all available places are filled, up to the final application deadline above

Personal statement and supporting information

- A personal statement is required. This can be entered directly into the online application form (maximum 4,000 characters) or uploaded as an attachment to the online application form (maximum 2 pages). You should describe how the degree will fit into your career plan and demonstrate a focused interest in the programme. Please provide details of your access to: up to date computer access and broadband internet, adequate clinical facilities and an appropriate selection of patients; approved video equipment, as part of the monitoring process (advice on this will be given in the first intensive face-to-face session).

If you have already completed your degree, copies of your official degree certificate will also be required. You will be taught mostly online through King’s E-learning and Teaching Service (KEATS) which provides information, interactive questions, assignments, use of bibliographic databases and reading material. Our students participate in online tutorials and discussion groups, interacting with expert tutors and their fellow students. Face-to-face lectures and hands-on training take place in blocks in the first three years. Students are required to undertake and build a reflective log of clinical work in their own general practice.

- Implant placement and restoration including -immediate, delayed, single unit to large units with soft tissue procedures
- Dentures of all types and designs, complete and partial including implant retained and precision attachments
- Bridges of all types including adhesive designs
- Occlusion assessment and treatment, managing lost OVD
- Treatment of tooth wear, TMD, bruxism
- Endodontics from assessment, access, filing, shaping, obturation, dealing with perforations and broken file retrieval
- Digital dentistry and the workflow from clinic to laboratory
- Smile design
- Aesthetic dentistry
- Aesthetic veneers – direct, indirect, chairside, semi-direct
- Orthodontics in relation to restorative and aesthetic dentistry
- Periodontology – including surgery
- Tooth restoration of all cavity types, materials, direct and indirect
- Restoring cavities with bulk-fill, monochromatic and layering techniques
- MI dentistry and its application to clinical practice
- Tooth preparation for all types of indirect restorations and design, margin design and positioning

Assessment
Typically 60% of each module is assessed through exams and 40% through assignments, with the exception of the FRP Clinical module which is assessed through a portfolio of case work, and the FRP Research module which is assessed by a dissertation.
You can take your exams in London or, for overseas students, at centres in your country of residence.

Employability
Our graduates have continued in general practice, offering a higher standard of clinical care with increased confidence and ability. Many have used the course to gain the confidence to enter independent practice, and some have gone on to teaching posts in universities.

These tuition fees may be subject to additional increases in subsequent years of study, in line with King’s terms and conditions.
Deposit
When you receive an offer for this course you will be required to pay a non-refundable deposit of £1,000 to secure your place. The deposit will be credited towards your total fee payment.
Additional Costs
In addition to your tuition costs, you can also expect to pay for:
- Travel, accommodation and subsistence for the face-to-face training blocks in London or Dubai during years 1 , 2 and 3.
- High quality internet access and connection for tutorials with minimum speeds of 2Mbps down and 3Mbps up.
- Computer equipment including headset, microphone and webcam.
- Photography equipment (to be discussed further at enrolment): digital camera with a macro lens and ring flash; SD card; retractors and mirrors; photo editing software.
- Since this is a clinical skills programme the majority of students find that they benefit from use of clinical operating loupes with or without headlamp illumination in order to facilitate their clinical development.
- Books if you choose to buy your own copies.

- Binding for logbooks/dissertations -binding is not necessary but is optional.
