Participants will gain a critical understanding of the basis for medical and dietary management of FGIDs, learn to adapt menus and recipes for a low FODMAP diet, and develop competence in integrating and interpreting evidence-based principles for FODMAP avoidance in various clinical situations. The course utilizes recorded lectures, interactive elements, and experiential learning activities, and is not formally assessed.

  • Participants will learn to adapt menus and recipes for a low FODMAP diet.
  • Participants will develop competence in integrating and interpreting evidence-based principles for FODMAP avoidance in various clinical situations.
  • Participants will acquire knowledge on developing a care pathway for local delivery of a low FODMAP diet.
  • Participants will learn to plan, deliver, monitor, and evaluate the clinical effectiveness of a low FODMAP diet for FGID patients.

  • Participants engage in self-directed learning through case studies, quizzes, additional readings, and experiential learning activities.
  • Experiential learning involves advising a patient on the low FODMAP diet, personal FODMAP restriction, and online forum discussions within a dedicated small group.
  • All lectures are recorded, allowing for flexible pacing.
  • Live interactive sessions with experts are also offered, with recordings available for those who cannot attend.

  • Qualified dietitians in clinical practice who regularly see patients with functional gastrointestinal disorders.
  • UK dietitians will need to provide evidence of your registration with the HCPC as part of your application.
