- The program covers topics such as how young people learn, teaching and learning techniques to support pupil progress, behavior management, assessment, inclusive, creative, and innovative teaching methods, and lesson and sequence planning.
- Students will research evidence-based learning theories, gain insights into current professional issues in secondary schools, and begin developing their own educational philosophy.

Assessment involves submitting a critical account of the subject's place in the curriculum and evidence of successful teaching in the specialist subject.
- Pedagogies for Support Learning and Progress in the Secondary School: This module explores pedagogy, focusing on how pupils learn, supporting their progress, planning and teaching well-structured lessons, and adapting teaching to meet diverse learner needs. Assessment involves planning and teaching a sequence of lessons with a focus on meeting the needs of all learners and critically evaluating the impact on pupil learning and outcomes.
- Professional Values and Practice 1: This module supports professional learning in the first assessed phase of school-based training. It develops theoretical knowledge, understanding, attributes, values, and skills. Students will gain an understanding of teachers' statutory duties, professional expectations, and responsibilities. They will develop classroom and behavior management skills and build confidence as a teacher, focusing on creating a positive learning environment and setting high expectations for pupil learning and behavior. - Professional Values and Practice 2: This module supports professional learning in the second assessed phase of school-based training. It focuses on developing inclusive pedagogy and practice. Assessment involves critically evaluating how developing skills impact pupil learning and progress.
- Professional Values and Practice 3: This module supports professional learning in the final assessed phase of school-based training. It consolidates understanding of teachers' professional accountability for pupil progress and outcomes, and the role of teachers within the school community and society. Students will refine and consolidate their teaching practice and demonstrate meeting the requirements for Qualified Teacher Status. Assessment involves critically evaluating how skills related to each standard have impacted pupil progress over time.

- An Honours degree (2:2 or above) with at least 50% relevant content in Art and Design.
- GCSE English Language and Maths at grade 4 or above (or grade C or above if awarded under the previous GCSE grading scheme) or equivalent.
- Language Proficiency Requirements:
- If your first language is not English, you will need IELTS 7.0 overall, with no element less than 6.5.
- Other Requirements:
- You must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, and that you have the intellectual and academic potential to meet the required Teachers’ Standards by the end of the programme.
- You should provide two references. Where applicants have current or recent experience working with children or young people, one of the referees should be a member of staff who can comment on their potential to train to teach.
