Program Overview

Higher Diploma in Science in Computing (options in Software; Data Analysis (AI); Cloud Infrastructure; Computer Science). The Higher Diploma in Science in Computing is an Honours Degree level graduate conversion programme which gives graduates from non-computing backgrounds the skills and knowledge to start a career in the IT industry. There are a host of employers who have taken full and part-time graduates of this programme with major multiple employers being SAP and AWS.

For 2022-2023 the TU Dublin proposal adds updated specialisations and more flexible learning options with an increased proportion of online delivery. Material is aligned to Certifications in various specialisations such as Cloud Computing, Data analytics & Networking which allows students deepen their knowledge in their chosen area of specialty.

With part time version of the programme project where students do not wish to or cannot afford to give up their current work then experiential learning and project activities are agreed with the student such that they can prepare themselves for particular roles in ICT. Of course where the student wishes to undertake a full time placement they are supported in this.

The range of specialisations allow students to target a specilisation which works for their own background and aspirations. In some cases specialised modules are shared with Year 4 honours students underlying the quality of standard reached in the specialised niche."
