Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Therapy

Overview

The Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Therapy is a comprehensive program that provides students with a thorough understanding of osteopathic principles and practices. The program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become competent osteopathic manual therapists.


Eligibility

All applicants should provide proof of satisfactory completion of training in a discipline with a focus on human anatomy, physiology from a recognized institution. This can include, but not limited to, the following disciplines:


  • Kinesiology
  • Chiropractic
  • Nursing
  • Physiotherapy
  • Fitness
  • Massage Therapy
  • Traditional Chinese Medicine

Program Outline

The program consists of 2850 hours of study, divided into five years. Each year builds on the previous one, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of osteopathic principles and practices.


Year 3: Third Level

  • Osteopathic processing of the lumbar disc herniation and sciaticas
  • Craneal Osteopathy: Shenobasilar
  • Autonomic Nervous System
  • Temporal bone
  • Overview of the digestive sphere. Stomach and Duodenum
  • Occiput and Parietal
  • TMJ I
  • Jones Points technique and mechanical sensitivity. Principles of treatment of joint techniques
  • Scientific investigation, radiology and medical condition – (Exam in e-learning system)

Year 4: Fourth Level

  • Module Sacrum
  • British structural and functional techniques
  • Visceral Osteopathy
  • Coccyx
  • Temporal- mandibular joint II
  • The fascias- Creeping fascial
  • Pediatrics I
  • Scientific investigation, radiology and medical condition – Exam in e-learning system

Year 5: Fifth Level – Diploma in Osteopathic Therapy

  • Dejarnette technique (SOT)
  • Visceral: Heart, Lung, Kidney, Bladder, lymphatic System
  • Occipito-cervical joint: occiput, atlas and axis
  • The fascia II. Craniosacral therapy
  • Angiology
  • Ophthalmology and Osteopathy
  • ORL
  • Pediatrics II
  • Radiology and medical condition – e-learning system

Admission Requirements

  • Proof of satisfactory completion of training in a discipline with a focus on human anatomy, physiology from a recognized institution.
  • English Language Requirement:
    • CLBA 7
    • TOEFL 71
    • IELTS 6.0 with no band less than 5.0
