Outline:

The MSc Dental Technology is a full-time, one-year program (September to September) with approximately 10 dedicated seminar rooms and a student learning center. It covers topics such as history & development of implantology, osseointegration, surface topography, patient assessment, implant design, surgical procedures, maintenance, and fixed/removable implant construction.

• Aesthetics: This module focuses on the basic principles of factors that affect aesthetics in restorative dentistry.
Topics covered include light, color and shade selection, tooth shape and form and use of color effects, and ethical aesthetics.
• Advanced Technical Practice: This module involves laboratory technical practice in order to produce a complex dental prosthesis.
Students will receive one-to-one teaching where necessary.
• Properties of Dental Materials/Processing Methods II: This module focuses on the composition and properties of clinical dental materials, based on ceramics/glasses, and polymers.
It also covers application of clinical dental materials and appropriate processing techniques.
• Fundamentals of Research Methods: This module covers research process, including methods and ethics, as well as basic statistics.

Research project

The research project forms a major component of your degree. It includes a report and viva presentation.
